The Becky L. Jackson Recovery Center offers weekend retreats to teach important recovery concepts, and to support you in your recovery from eating addictions.

Next Retreat: February 8 - 10, 2008

Retreats offered yearly:

Living From Spiritual Principles -
Body Image Recovery

In the Foreword of AA's 12 & 12, it states, "AA's 12 Steps are a group of principles, spiritual in their nature which,  if practiced as a way of life, can expel the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole."  I believe this is the answer to long term recovery... not just long term abstinence, but living free of any yearning for the eating addiction.

Since Body Image Issues (the care and feeding, and the loving acceptance of our body) are our number one relapse problem, this Weekend Retreat will offer a safe setting and allow us to focus on connecting to our Spirit and our Inner Family, to identify the Spiritual Principles reflected in the Steps and to begin to live, talk and think from these Spiritual Principles.  There will be exercises and visualizations to help transform us into action with our recovery.

Join us for wonderful fellowship in a beautiful setting.  Plan on bring your sleeping bag, overnight bag and willingness to grow your recovery.  Arrive Friday night by 9:00pm for the beginning session.  We will provide towels, a morning walks and 4 meals; Sat. breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sun. breakfast.  We will conclude our Retreat by noon on Sun. and you will be free to enjoy the greater Palm Springs resort area.  It has great shopping, restaurants, the spectacular tram ride that overlooks the whole valley.

Registration deposit - $150, total fee - $350

Eating to Nourish, Not Control -
Self Care in Recovery

If self care has been a struggle... take the time to realign yourself with God, your Inner Family and Spiritual Principles...  I believe we can have the full recovery that the phrase "spiritual awakening" implies... including our relationship with nutrition, food, weight, your body!

In AA's Big Book at the bottom of page 84, states what I call "The Second Set of Promises."  It says, "And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone"... "For by this time sanity will have returned."... If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame.  We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically...  We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality‹safe and protected... the problem has been removed.  It does not exist for us.  We are neither cocky nor are we afraid.  That is our experience..  That is how we react so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition."

If you feel this is happening with your abstinence, but not your relationship with food or body weight, come and join us for a weekend that can allow for the Second Set of Promises to be experienced in your life.
