Becky
L. Jackson provides nutritional counseling that can
help rebalance your body and brain chemistry, and support your recovery
from an eating addiction.
If you, or a recovery buddy,
fit the profile below, Becky's services could be of great value.
- continuously abstinent
from their eating addiction BUT weight has slowly, sometimes not so
slowly, gone up ... not from overeating but possibly from either aging,
hormone changes or an emerging health issue.
- relapsed back into the
eating addiction because weight seemed to slowly go up while eating
moderately ... a loss of hope ... unable to discover, understand or
sanely address secondary health issues
- cant get and stay
abstinent without weight going up and out of a normal weight category
... blame self for the problem and don't know there might be health
conditions driving the problem.
Anytime someone abstaining
from their eating addiction begins to gain weight and move out of a
normal range, they are at risk to be seduced by the dieting world ...
and therefore relapse prone
Anytime someone recovering
from an eating addiction needs to make dietary changes, they move into
a high risk category similar to a recovering drug addict who has to
take medication for a health condition
Anytime people wanting to
recover from their eating addiction don't have their weight move into
a average/normal weight category through abstinence, they are in a high
risk for relapse category
( In using the term dietary
changes I'm including liquids ingested, as well as food choices.
)
15 years ago, only 5 - 10%
of my clients fell into this baffling category; today I experience it
running closer to 30 - 40%. I'm guessing there are a few major components
that are the culprits.
- The aging of the boomers
who are experiencing hormone instability...insulin is a master hormone
and it determines if the body uses the food/liquids ingested as energy
or stores it as fat.
- The under 45 group who
have participated in the delusional diet culture of our society and
therefore have experienced more damaging effects from starting earlier
and earlier with the low calorie, no fat, sugar free insanity
of yo-yo dieting.
- Those for whom diabetes
runs in the family and aging has triggered insulin resistant or pre-diabetic
condition.
My search/research has brought
me some new tools, success and tremendous hope for clients.
Please give me call if you
have any questions or concerns.
