Books:
Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
by Richard Bach
In Illusions, the unforgettable follow-up to his phenomenal bestseller
Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach takes to the air to discover
the ageless truths that give our souls wings: that people don't need
airplanes to soar...that even the darkest clouds have meaning once we
lift ourselves above them... and that messiahs can be found in the unlikeliest
places--like hay fields, one-traffic-light midwestern towns, and most
of all, deep within ourselves.
Anatomy of the Spirit : The Seven Stages of Power and Healing
by Caroline Myss, C. Norman Shealy
What sets Anatomy of the Spirit apart is Carolyn Myss's ability to
blend diverse religious and spiritual beliefs into a succinct discussion
of health and human anatomy. For example, when describing the seven
energy fields of the human body, she fuses Christian sacraments with
Hindu chakras and the Kabbalah's Tree of Life. Fortunately, Myss is
a skilled writer as well as researcher, able to ground her extensive
spiritual and religious discussions by using real-life stories and a
tight writing style.
Why People Don't Heal and How They Can
by Caroline Myss, Ph.D.
Attitudes and beliefs about healing have changed radically over the
past few decades. The belief that psychology holds the key to physical
healing, once a breakthrough perspective, has given way to the tendency
of people to define themselves through their pain, "woundology,"
as Caroline Myss calls it: "In workshops and in daily life I saw
that, rather than working to get beyond their wounds, people were using
them as social currency." It set her on an investigation to challenge
our assumptions about healing, and ask why some choose health, why some
don't, and how all can.

Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom
by Christiane Northrup
Quite possibly every female over the age of 12 will find this huge
book enlightening, pain saving, and perhaps even lifesaving. Think of
it as a much more empowering and holistic Our Bodies, Ourselves. Northrup
is a gynecologist who acknowledges the power of natural therapies and
herbs, but also maintains that allopathic treatments, including surgery,
are sometimes best. In Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom, she covers the
treatment of many physical concerns--among them PMS, menstrual cramps,
breast cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, depression, childbirth,
abortion, cystitis, and menopause--explaining how many of these physical
problems have roots in emotional upsets. For example, a woman who is
unhappy with her marriage may be infertile because deep down, she knows
that her husband is not the right man to have children with; a teenager
who has cramps may be having problems accepting society's expectations
of her as a woman.

Conversations With God : An Uncommon Dialogue
by Neale Donald Walsch
This is book 1, but there are now 3 volumes of these conversations
with God. In 1992, Neale Donald Walsch was nearing 50 and feeling less
than happy with his life--his four marriages had failed, his relationships
with his kids were spotty, his health was poor, and he'd just lost his
job. In frustration he dashed off an angry letter to God. As Walsch
describes in the two bestselling volumes of "Conversations with
God: An Uncommon Dialogue," God answered back in a personable,
colloquial voice. Their conversation continued for three years, as Walsch
petitioned God with questions both basic (why do people suffer?) and
personal (why couldn't he get ahead financially?). In 1995, Walsch published
the first installment of his Q & A session with God, because he
felt the material had something to offer whether readers believed the
conversations took place, or not.

Women's
Bodies, Women's Choices
by Christiane Northrup
Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom
by Christiane Northrup
Northrup explores the mind/body connection from a personal, entirely
